Heat-treated glass – TVG
This type of glass is heat-treated in order to improve mechanical resistance.
After it breaks, as opposed to toughened glass which breaks into small fragments, its broken pieces remain in the frame. Heat-strengthened glass is used mainly in laminated glass units; its use allows glass to maintain higher rigidity in case of breaking compared to elements made of toughened glass – ESG.
Legal requirements for heat-strengthened glasses are specified by PN-EN 1863.
